Proposition 8 is a legislation in California passed on November 4, 2008 banning gay marriages. My college held a vigil against the Proposition and similar laws in other states.

Well, France will never ban gay marriages :lol: They're not even legal to begin with -_-

In California, the state Supreme Court said it was okay, but they can't enforce something if the people disagree. And the people voted to ban gay marriages. Here in Wisconsin they're banned as well. It angers me.

I'm really sadden that Prop 8 passed has passed.

While I respect the voters, I think it's ashame that people don't do research deep enough. I mean, Civil Unions has the same rights? Maybe by state, but not by federal.

It's a complete shame.

I don't see why the gays have a chance into being married. They proven themselves worthy in MS. They have a very low divorce rate.

They proven worthy in CA, and yet, a few nutcases said, it's not right. Come on, they proven themselves worthy. They can be as equal as heterosexuals. Let them get married.

I mean, look what they said. They said slavery was alright, and it turned out not as well. I don't see why homosexual is wrong also, just because the bible said so. We all have different beliefs.

Don't say about Civil Unions, as they don't get federal benefits. Not to mention it doesn't go out of state.

I was an ex-prop 8 supporter. But when they brought up about the education, and about respect, I was like, wtf is going on with them? They never taught me anything about marriage in school.

I was thinking just removing the entire marriage thing. Either everyone gets it, or no one at all.

And sorry for the long post. I thought it has to be said.
